Community Leadership Program (CLP) strives to create capacity building opportunities among community members who call Peel Region their home. Based on collaborative learning, the program provides participants with a variety of tools and techniques for engaging around issues of diversity, equity and inclusion. This initiative helps to build on their diverse experience and networks, apply their leadership skills, work together, and advocate for systemic change in the region through community action. 

Centered around the vision and commitments of the D&I Charter, this training program focuses on: 

• Building a foundation around diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) 
• Developing skills for community leadership 

Past program ambassadors from CLP 1.0 and 2.0 have participated in grassroots projects promoting greater dialogue within and among the various communities around issues of inequities, such as, racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, and ageism putting this learning into action through change-making initiatives.
