Description: Building on previous suggestions and enhancing the initial prototype, the Design Thinking Forum 2.0 will continue to explore intersecting systems of oppression that marginalize newcomers and keep immigrants, refugees, migrant workers, and international students in limbo.

 

This forum aims to explore the challenges and gaps in integration journeys by listening to newcomers and settlement service providers. Thus, this forum seeks to prioritize these experiences in shaping and redefining equitable policies that promote equity and belonging in the labour market.

 

This forum will also invite legal and human rights advocates to provide expertise on navigating issues affecting newcomers, particularly in the workplace.

 

Through this forum, and by centering newcomers’ voices, Regional Diversity Roundtable (RDR) hopes to produce a collaborative framework/tool that utilizes the Diversity Equity Inclusion-DEI lens in reducing systematic barriers to employment.
